Thank you for an absolutely outstanding event!
Listen, you know tons of people in the aviation industry and I’m probably one of the extremely few people you might know in this business that actually has a University Degree in Recreation Management. After Uni I was poised to go work for a Club Med or a cruise ship company (and was actually offered a position at NCL upon completion of my degree) but life led me in another direction.
My point, the event you created was masterful! It was informative, it was memorable, it was fun and all the while being business focused too. To the average participant it might not be apparent all the steps required to succeed as you did in regards to this event from; organization, risk management, motivation, experiential activities, the psychological and sociological requirements to take into account to create the group dynamics that you were able to establish in a very brief time. It was like a real life example of Maslows Hierarchy, and the best part about it; few contemplated the fact they were a part of this Hierarchy – they just felt good, and safe, seen and comfortable and praised you for a fantastic event. YOU made them/us feel that way! That praise was well earned by both you and the committee involved.
I think you summarized it best when you told me, “I plan my events like I was planning it as my own wedding.” That was a wonderful piece of insight and you succeeded far beyond my greatest expectations!
